花卉在实际应用中有多种多样的形式,无论公共绿地还是庭园绿化,花卉除了能作花坛、花丛、花群、花台等形式外,花境布置也是一种重要的形式。所谓“花境”,是人们认真研究自然风景中野生花卉在林缘地带自然散布的生长规律以后,经过艺术提炼而设计的自然式花带。花境布置一般都以树丛、树群、绿篱、矮墙或建筑物等作为背景,根据组景的不同特点形成宽狭不一的曲线或直线的花带。花带中的各种花卉呈斑状混交。班块的面积可大、可小,但不宜过于零碎和繁杂。
