埃德加·斯诺是美国著名的新闻记者、作家。1905年生于美国密苏里州。1925年秋,入密苏里大学新闻学院学习。1928年来到中国,担任上海《密勒氏评论报》助理编辑,兼任美国《芝加哥论坛报》驻远东记者。1936年,访问陕甘宁边区,成为第一个采访红色中国腹地的西方记者。新中国成立后,曾三次来华访问,1972年2月15日因病在瑞士日内瓦逝世。在斯诺的记者生涯中,除了为欧美几家报刊撰稿外,他还陆续撰写了《活的中国》、《复始之旅》、《漫长的革命》等11本著作,其中9部与中国有关。
Edgar Snow is a famous American journalist and writer. Born in 1905 in Missouri, USA. In the fall of 1925, he studied at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He came to China in 1928 and served as an assistant editor in Shanghai’s Miller Review and also serves as the correspondent for the Chicago Tribune in the Far East. In 1936, I visited the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region and became the first western reporter to interview the Red China hinterland. After the founding of New China, he visited China three times and died on the 15th of February 1972 in Geneva, Switzerland. In Snow’s career as a reporter, in addition to writing articles for several European and American newspapers, he also wrote 11 books, including “Living China”, “The Beginning of Journey” and “The Long Revolution,” of which nine China related.
