根据教育部制订的《中学历史教学大纲》关于“中国历史在完成教学大纲规定的教学任务以外,各省、市、自治区可以编写地方乡土教材、补充教学”的规定,河北省教育科学研究所编写了初级中学补充教材《河北乡土历史》,由河北人民出版社出版,在全省发行。《河北乡土历史》。因是补充性质的教材,我们考虑篇幅分量不宜过多,共编写了十三课,每课平均两千字左右,共二万八千多字,其中古代史部分六课,近、现代史部分(到中华人民共和国建国前)七课。在编写中力求作到内容简明扼要,叙事通俗易懂;课文中还附有插图八幅,封面设计反映乡土历史特点,以增加历史的直观性和学习兴趣。此教材在我省初中一、二年级连续使用,每学期平均三课时。在教学时,教师可根据全国统编历史教
