In order to develop and utilize the precious tree resources of Shi Zi, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry issued in 1976 a project entitled “Investigation and Cultivation Techniques of Precious and Fast-growing Precious Timber Species,” Shi Zi was one of them. In 1980, the Ministry of Forestry included the research on fast-growing and high-yielding cultivation techniques of Shi Zi in a major project.
