In order to understand the relationship between neuropsychiatric status and immune function, 46 immune patients diagnosed as schizophrenia were studied. The immune indexes used were the percentage of T lymphocyte and T lymphocyte subsets, the percentage of B cells, the activity of NK cells, the ability of inducing NKCF and the inducing level of IL-2 in peripheral blood. Meanwhile, 30 healthy blood donors were tested as normal control group. The results showed that the mean CD_3 and CD_4 cells in the peripheral blood of the patients were significantly lower than those in the control group, and there was no significant difference between the CD_8 and the control group. CD_4 / CD_8 ratio decreased: the percentage of B cells had no significant change; NK activity and NKCF induced ability was significantly increased: IL-2 induced significantly lower levels, compared with the healthy control group, the difference was significant. Initial observations of immune function in patients with schizophrenia have multiple immune abnormalities.
