寄语家乡青年《河南青年》因“文化大革命”停刊十三年之久,于1979年6月复刊。那时我在《河南青年》杂志做编辑。为提高杂志的品位,编辑部首先想到向北京几位德高望重的河南籍作家约稿。著名翻译家、文学家、教育家曹靖华就是其中之一。曹老是豫西伏牛山区卢氏县人,生于1897年,当时已年过八旬,我们不知他的身体状况如何,只有抱着侥幸心理试试看。信是寄给他的工作单位北京大学的。令编辑部
