挪威国土有将近一半位于森林界线以上。国内东南部分的森林界线高于海拔1000米,而西北部份则降低到300米。挪威的造林工作量逐年增加,自1938年到1958年,栽植林木的数量已由1600万株增加到8600万株,每年需要林木种子10000公斤,几年后将增加到18000公斤。由于地区性差别很大,挪威对种子经营十分注意。种子经营事业由国家管理,并由农业部林木种子委员
Nearly half of Norway’s land is above the forest boundary. The southeastern part of the forest boundary line is higher than 1000 meters above sea level, while the northwestern part is reduced to 300 meters. The amount of afforestation work in Norway has been increasing year by year. From 1938 to 1958, the number of trees planted has increased from 16 million to 86 million. Forest trees require 10,000 kg each year and will increase to 18,000 kg in a few years. Due to the very different regions, Norway is very concerned about the operation of the seeds. The seed management business is managed by the state and is entrusted by the Ministry of Agriculture’s forest seed committee
