梁漱溟(1893-1988),原籍广西桂林,生于北京,著名学者、国学大师,现代新儒家的代表人物之一,主要研究人生问题和社会问题。青年时代一度崇信梁启超的改良主义思想。辛亥革命时期,参加同盟会京津支部,热衷于社会主义。二十岁起潜心于佛学研究,几度自杀未成,经过几年的沉潜反思,人生理想又归宿于儒学。著有《乡村建设理论》、《东西文化及其哲学》、《人心与人生》、《中国文化要义》、《东方学术概观》等。
Liang Shuming (1893-1988), a native of Guilin, Guangxi Province, was born in Beijing, a famous scholar, master of Chinese studies, and one of the representatives of modern Neo-Confucianism. He mainly studied life and social issues. The youth era once believed in Liang Qichao’s reformism. During the Revolution of 1911, he joined the Beijing-Tianjin Branch of the League and became enthusiastic about socialism. At the age of twenty, he devoted himself to the study of Buddhism and did not commit suicide several times. After several years of subconscious reflection, his ideal of life has returned to Confucianism. Author of “theory of rural construction”, “East-West culture and philosophy”, “people’s heart and life”, “Chinese culture”, “Oriental academic overview” and so on.
