In July 2009, the Shanghai Archives went to the National Archives of the People's Republic of China to collect the files of the Shanghai Concession from the period of 1840 to 1912 in the Qing Dynasty. A total of 27 volumes of archives were collected. The main contents were the correspondence between the British Foreign Office and the British Consulate General in Shanghai from 1906 to 1913 Letters, planning maps of Shanghai Ying and French Concessions, letters of correspondence between Qing dynasty emperor Jill Hanga and British ambassador to China.
