Much of my adult life was spent in India. My husband and children are Indians. I am not Indians, and as time goes by, I am less and less Indians. The impact on people in this place of India is very strong. Some people hate it, others love it, and most people do both for it. For today’s liberals, the key issue for those who have developed an attitude that is both sensitive and receptive to the culture of other nations is just how to adapt to the new environment.
