In this paper, we present a lattice Boltzmann model that can reflect the change of fluid properties. First, by simulating the natural convection in the cavity under atmospheric pressure, the reliability of the model was tested. Secondly, the natural convection of CO2 under supercritical pressure was simulated, and the influence of sharp physical changes near the pseudo-critical temperature on the flow and heat transfer was discussed. The proposed model provides a powerful tool to further investigate the flow and heat transfer characteristics of CO_2. The results of this paper provide a theoretical basis for the effective use of supercritical CO_2 to improve the performance of the heat exchange system.
