The discipline of art design itself has many characteristics such as practicality, scientificity and practicability. It is also a comprehensive and knowledge-intensive discipline that integrates many disciplines of art, market and ecology. This paper will focus on the training and teaching of art design professionals in independent colleges. From the characteristics of art design major in independent colleges, this paper will further explore effective measures for how to do well in the cultivation and teaching of this major.
