The World Health Organization (WHO) was established on April 7, 1948. It is a specialized agency under the UN and is the largest intergovernmental organization in the world. China was one of the founding members of WHO. In 1972, the 25th World Health Assembly resumed our country’s legal seat in the organization. Since joining the World Health Organization, China has maintained long-term friendly and cooperative relations with the organization. In the new century, with the continuous deepening of globalization, the exchange of technology, personnel and others has become more convenient and faster, which has led to the acceleration of disease transmission. As the most populous country in the world, China has shown an increasingly important role in the World Health Organization. On the basis of enumerating a large number of facts, this article will analyze the possible reasons why China’s position in the World Health Organization will gradually increase from the perspective of China’s national conditions and the status of traditional medicine in the world and in combination with the 2008 global economic crisis.
