从1989年至1993年我国已连续五次组团参加国际信息学奥林匹克竞赛。首届获三块铜牌;第二届获一块金牌、两块银牌、一块铜牌;第三届获两块金牌、一块银牌,总分跃居世界第一;第四届获三块金牌、一块银牌,总分蝉联世界第一;第五届获一块金牌、一块银牌、两块铜牌。有人会提出这样的疑问:中国的计算机事业不算先进,青少年所用机器的质量也不高,普及的面还很有限,怎么会取得这么好的成绩呢?这的确是一个耐人深思的问题。
