Teaching methods are the necessary conditions for teachers to complete teaching tasks, which are important promoting and restricting factors for students’ development. Teaching methods are directly related to the success or failure of teaching and teaching efficiency, but also a breakthrough in teaching reform. The geography teaching method system has complex structure and various types, so we must attach great importance to the selection and integration of geography teaching methods. The same is also an important issue for the Division of Normal Education of the Ministry of Education facing the 21st century geography teaching curriculum reform and an important aspect of geography education research. This article elaborates the choice of teaching methods of geography in high school from the aspects of the concept and optimization theory of geography teaching methods
