本月22日到26日,中国全国各地的动物学工作者都派了代表,到我们人民的首都开会。在闭会的时候,我们一致通过写信给你们,表示我们对你们的关怀,希望在工作中能随时和你们联系。我们愿意告诉你们,我们现在的自由康乐情况,是由于我们消灭了蒋介石反动腐败的政权,推翻了帝国主义的压迫才获得的。我们深深的体验到,祇有在人民的政权下,科学才有可能擭得发展的机会。朋友们,我们中华人民共和国成立虽然不久,但是我们的经济已经基本好转了,物价稳定了,科学研究费大大的增加了,科学工作者的生活也显著的改善了;我们的工业农业各方面的建设也大规模的开始了,这些都是在反动政权之下所想象不到的事情。
