A solid complex of yttrium picrate (Y (Pic) _3) and 18-crown-6 (18C6) was synthesized. The composition and structure of the complex were investigated by elemental analysis, molar conductance, IR, NMR and XRD. The complex was composed of [Y (Pic) _3 · (18C6) _2 · 5H_2O and the metal / crown ether ratio was 3: 2.
