Maria Campbell is one of the most influential indigenous women writers in Canada. Her autobiographical novel, Half-Blood, which is based on the dual identities and perspectives of both female and Metis sangasans, has aroused widespread public concern. This autobiography not only played an active role in subverting the history of whites in Canada, but also demonstrated the profound heritage of indigenous peoples’ cultures and was hailed as a milestone in the revival of indigenous literature in Canada. Based on the textual analysis of “half-breed”, this thesis focuses on the important stages of the heroine’s personal experience, Survival and Rehabilitation, to the current challenges. Campbell’s personal growth reflects the whole of Canada’s indigenous peoples in their quest for freedom. It is very meaningful to understand and study the text of “half-breed”. On the one hand, the domestic research on Aboriginal literature in Canada is in its infancy. The study is based on three main themes of texts in the country for the first time. On the other hand, under the current global multicultural background, the study of “half-breeds” can objectively and comprehensively Understand the history, culture and living conditions of Canadian indigenous peoples, and at the same time, it has some reference for the protection and development of Chinese minority cultures.
