Objective To investigate the abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) in acute stroke patients and its effect on prognosis. Methods The clinical data of 112 first-episode acute stroke patients were retrospectively analyzed. Mortality data of hospitalized and discharged patients at 6 months after stroke were collected by clinical and telephone follow-up. Results Electrocardiogram abnormalities in ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients were significantly different from those in control group (P <0.01). There was no significant difference in in-hospital mortality rate between ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients and those in the control group (P> 0.05), while the mortality rate at 6 months after discharge was significantly lower than that in the control group There was significant (P <0.01). Conclusion The prognosis of acute stroke is significantly related to the presence or absence of heart damage. Heart disease is still the most common cause of death in stroke patients.
