On November 6, Rohm and Haas Company of the United States acquired the plastic additive business of Japan Kure Chemical Co., Ltd. for US $ 6.65 million. According to the agreement, Rohm and Haas will obtain Wu Yu’s commercial operations throughout the Asia Pacific region and other regions as well as its manufacturing facilities and laboratories in Singapore. It is expected that the handover will be completed by the end of 2002. The transaction will increase the Rohm and Haas plastic additive business by about 70% each year
