Two months of unrest followed the example of counter-revolutionary riots and the pacification of riots. Forty years after the founding of the People's Republic of China in the capital city of Beijing, such incidents as shocking both at home and abroad have taken place. It is indeed both heart-wrenching and thought-provoking. It is undoubtedly of the utmost importance that we take it for granted that we must think calmly about our past and our future, explore the causes of this turmoil and calm its significance.
