江南水泥厂的矿山,生产石灰石、粘土和火山灰三种水泥原料,这个厂的矿山,自1950年建成投入生产以来,历年产量增长很快,滿足了生产不断发展的需要,不但保証了大窑吃飽,吃好,而且还做到了經常有适当的儲备量。1960年,全矿生产石灰石46.8万吨,等于1951年(正式投产第一年)21万吨的2.2倍多。在大跃进的三年中,这个矿共生产石灰石139.2万吨,等于第一个五年計划期間总产量186万吨的70%。江南水泥厂投产的12年以来,由于矿山工作抓得好,所以从未发生过因原料供应不足而影响生产的现象。江南水泥厂的矿山,原来的基础并不好。归納起来存在着以下三个問題。
