有将近6年党龄的安徽无为县仓脑乡常丰村村民潘正耘,几年来走南闯北,尽管怀里揣着村党支部的组织关系介绍信,但从没谁问过他是不是党员。前一段时间他来到北京,在东城区和平里街道远东建筑工地做木工。令他没想到的是,在工地竟然能同北京城建公司的党员一起过上了组织生活。潘正耘起初是木工班班长,后来当上了工程分包队副队长。他说,我是党员,要是管理不好队里的民工,就对不起街道和工地党组织的关怀,对不起共产党员的称号。外地民工建设北京,北京人怎样善待他们?潘正耘的经历是和平里街道辖区内很多外地民工党员的缩影。
