April 28 is the thirtieth anniversary of the death of Jirímia Schiff, a prominent Russian plant physiologist. Workers in the Republic of Latvia commemorate him extensively. The Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Latvia and the Latvian Academy of Agricultural Sciences hold a memorial service on nature remodelers. Lectures by various universities and collective farms on the life of Schimmel Jirche’s scientific activities are held.
