Preface Pilots report resuming high-G flight after a long vacation with a potentially dangerous phase of G endurance reduction. We therefore measured the change in general endurance indices as a result of leave as a means of evaluating the relative susceptibility of G to loss of consciousness (G-LOC). Methods Volunteers were pre-treated by exposure to a 5G-9G SACM (simulated air combat) approach twice a week until exhausted. After achieving consistent results, one group received a planned 4-week leave and the other group received a 2-week break. Measurements of all subjects before and after their break, including both endurance (0.1G / s) and rapid growth (6G / s) + Gz, as well as 5G to 9GSACM endurance. In the 4-week example, a modified Astrand was also used
