1947 engaged in museum work, this year has more than 80-year-old Shi Shuqing, is still in the work of the National Heritage Committee. Speaking to reporters, he told reporters: “I have been to many museums in the world in my life. There are so many cultural relics lost to overseas countries in China. They are like pearl pellets scattered all over the world.” The anguish of the elderly comes from the annual report provided by the British Museum in recent years: There are 23,579 pieces of Chinese cultural relics preserved in the museum, including 5,224 pieces of calligraphy and painting, 18,355 pieces of stone, jade and metal artifacts. Together with ancient Greek and ancient Egyptian collections, these collections have become the most important and precious cultural heritage of the museum.
