American painter Eric Fishl (1948-) was one of the most influential figurative painters in America in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The growth experience in the suburbs of the United States provided the creative backdrop to Fisher’s work with an abusive, flashy middle class culture. His early works, which focus more on the unspeakable truths and cracks, have been grasped and conveyed to the dark side of the mainstream American society and to the disturbing undercurrent, arousing widespread concern and controversy. Early in order to correct his misunderstanding of his neo-expressionist paintings, he exaggerated the sense of formality of the work and decomposed the image into a series of picture forms of multi-joint structures composed of independent pictures.
