我们这一带原名叫南大膳,解放初期属湘阴县第十八区。华国锋同志在担任中共湘阴县委书记期间,曾先后七次来到这里,领导清匪反霸斗争和土地改革运动。华主席十分关怀工农文化翻身。我们公社原任党委副书记徐春林同志,是解放前这里地下党支部的负责人。华主席曾多次当面给他指示工作。当了解到他是文盲时,就调他到县干校学习,以后又调他到湘潭地委干校扫盲班学习,还手把手地教他写字。现任党委副书记郭松云同志至今还保存着华主席教他识字后聆听华主席报告时第一次作记录的本子。还有合兴大队现任党支部副书记
