6月13日,中国足球队与土耳其队之战鸣哨。当这场被中国球迷称作“为荣誉而战”的比赛最终以0:3败北时,中国队以“一场未赢、一球未进”的战绩黯然结束了世界杯“处子之旅”。而远居内陆腹地的《新疆日报》对于世界杯的报道也骤然降温,在版面安排、资源调配等方面均开始低调运作。本报此次推出的“聚焦世界杯”专刊毕竟开了一个先河,除了奥运会、全运会等综合性大型体育比赛外,作为一向不太重视体育报道的党报,新疆日报还没有为某一项专业体育赛事开过专刊。
