戏剧小品,倘若将它视为“戏剧片断”,或看作“戏剧中的一个场景”,都是不准确的,因为“片断”与“场景”本身不具备完整性,它们仅仅是一部戏剧作品的组成部分,而戏剧小品却应是完整的戏剧作品,有着戏剧的一切要素与特征,有头有尾,有始有终。它类似于小说中的“微型小说”或“小小说”,故而亦可称其为“微型戏剧”。戏剧小品与一般戏剧作品的根本区别只在于,戏剧小品的时空容量小。我们根据课堂教学的需要,舞台演出时间一般掌握在十分钟左右,不超过二十分钟。当然,对戏剧小品的时空很难精确地界定,但总有一个量的阈限,这就是既不能失却“小”的特征,也不能“小”到不成其为戏。由此可见,小品的剧中人物宜少不宜多,人物关系宜简不宜繁,事件发展宜短不宜长,但这却丝毫不意味着便可降低它的艺术性,减弱它的戏剧性的表现力。戏剧小品不仅简短,并且具备戏剧艺术的完整性,使得它大有走出教学的课堂,在戏剧园地独占一隅之势。实际上,微型戏剧已非仅
