1993年8月19日,首届“中华人口奖”遴选委员会把一项特殊荣誉奖授给了我国已故著名经济家家、人口学家和教育家,传奇式的世纪老人马寅初先生,以表彰他在中国人口领域所作出的独特的贡献。 马寅初于1882年6月24日生于浙江绍兴府,1898年去上海读中学,1906年在天津北洋大学矿冶专业毕业后,留学美国,获经济学博士学位和哲学博士学位。1916年,为报效祖国,谢绝了美哥伦比亚大学的正式邀请。其后,马寅初先生历任重庆大学教授,上海中华职业学校、上海工商专科学校教授。
On August 19, 1993, the first China Population Prize Selection Committee awarded a special honorary award to Mr. Ma Yinchu, the legendary elder of the late Ming Dynasty, an economist, deceased famous Chinese economist, demographer and educator, in honor of him The unique contribution made in the field of population in China. Ma Yinchu was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province on June 24, 1882. She went to Shanghai in 1898 to study in high school. After graduating from the mining and metallurgy major of Beiyang University in Tianjin in 1906, she studied in the United States and received her Ph. D. and Ph. D. degrees in economics. In 1916, to serve the motherland, declined the formal invitation of Columbia University. Since then, Mr. Ma Yinchu served as a professor at Chongqing University, Shanghai Chinese Vocational School, Shanghai Business School professor.
