鄂西巴戟天是鄂西自治州民间应用已久且作巴戟天入药的一种药物。本品能否作巴戟天入药?笔者对巴戟天进行了本草考证、现状论述和鄂西巴戟天的考察与鉴定,结果认为二者在植物形态、药材性状、产地分布及效用等方面基本一致,鄂西巴戟天与古代归州巴戟比较接近,可以考虑作为国药巴戟天的一个来源。
