Objective To investigate the correlation between serum C-reactive protein level and pulse wave velocity in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods Totally 90 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus hospitalized from May 2012 to May 2013 in our hospital were divided into non-arteriosclerosis group and arteriosclerosis group by carotid intima-media thickness. All patients underwent pulse wave velocity and Related biochemical indicators of measurement, while analyzing its relevance. Results In arteriosclerosis group, the pulse wave velocity and hypersensitive C-reactive protein were significantly higher than those in non-atherosclerosis group. Serum uric acid and pulse wave velocity were positively correlated. Conclusions Serum levels of C-reactive protein and arterial stiffness are closely related. High-sensitivity C protein level leads to severe atherosclerosis in type 2 diabetic patients. It plays an important role in controlling cardiovascular disease and preventing macrovascular complications Complications in the great significance.
