1907年,俄国的细菌学家梅尼奇柯夫发现在牛奶中加入乳酸菌制剂制成的酸牛奶对人体有益,能帮助消化,治疗腹泻.经过半个多世纪至今,这一发现引起众多科学家对有益微生物研究的兴趣.1977年,联邦德国Voker Rusch博士首先提出"微生态学"这一术语,并在德国建立第一个微生态学研究所,微生态学以生态学中独立学科迅速发展起来,并越来越显出它的重要性.近年来,我国对微生态学基础理论和应用研究也取得了较大的社会、经济效益.
