在2015年第九届“纪录·中国”纪录片创优评析活动中,大型抗战纪录片《大后方》在众多同类题材作品中脱颖而出,荣获抗战(文献类)作品一等奖,使短暂沉寂的渝派纪录片又恢复了生机。《大后方》在立足本土传统的基础上,吸收新时期影视作品的多种创新手法,不仅保留和继承了渝派纪录片的特有气质,还通过有别于传统的方法实现了对本土纪录片的拓展与丰富,也为新时期地方区域性派别纪录片的发展提供了借鉴。
