The Economist In Britain, in theory, ownership of a business in a capitalist economy has nothing to do with anyone. In fact, the ownership of ownership is always controversial, cross-border mergers and acquisitions always affect the nerves of various countries. With China’s state-owned enterprises embarking on a path of foreign M & A, such worries seem likely to intensify in the coming years. The reasons for the internationalization of Chinese enterprises are not uncommon: obtaining raw materials, obtaining technical knowledge and winning overseas markets. But these Chinese companies are country-led so many countries see them as strategic-level competitors rather than as allies. Chinese government usually appoints enterprises
