误码率是衡量数字传输系统质量优劣的重要指标之一。它反映数字信息在传输过程中受到损害的程度。因此,误码率的实际测量与误码特性的分析研究受到各国的普遍重视。光纤通信系统是新的传输系统,光缆是新的通信线路和传输媒质。光纤线路不受外界电磁干扰影响,数字信息传输过程中受到的误码损害有自己的特点和规律。已往的经验与研究工作也证明了不同的传输媒质和传输系统具有不同的误码特性。在如何用概率统计方法或数学模型来描述和分析误码特性的学术领域,长期来主要研究三种误码分布规律,即泊松(Poisson)分布、对数正态分布和甲型传染分布。对于突发的成群误码宜用甲型传染分布描述,它需要两个参数表征,比较复杂。对于随机孤立发生
