【原文】文帝四年中,人上书言意,以刑罪当传西之长安。意有五女,随而泣。意怒,骂曰:“生子不生男,缓急无可使者!”于是少女缇萦伤父之言,乃随父西。上书曰:“妾父为吏,齐中称其廉平,今坐法当刑。妾切痛死者不可复生,而刑者不可复续,虽欲改过自新,其路莫由,终不可得。妾愿入身为官婢,以赎父刑罪,使得改过自新。”书闻,上悲其意,此岁亦除肉刑法。(摘自《史记·扁鹊仓公列传》)
In the four years of Emperor Wen’s time, people wrote letters and expressed intentions, and when they were penalized, they spread the Chang’an in the west. With five women in mind, she cries. Indignation and anger, said: “Born with no son, no hurry!” Then the girl bruised her father’s words. The letter said: “The uncle said that he is a gentleman. Qi Zhong said that he was honest and that he was sitting in law. When he was bitter, the dead could not be revived, and the criminals could not be revived. Although he wanted to reform his life, he could not get it.
