《星期六》是伊恩·麦克尤恩创作的第一部以“9·11”恐怖分子袭击事件和伊拉克战争等为背景的长篇小说,它在麦克尤恩文学生涯中占有重要地位。遗憾的是,国内很少有人关注它的价值,而国外这些年的研究多从伦理学、叙事风格、心理学等角度进行。本文另辟蹊径,采取文类研究方法对《星期六》进行研究,力图证明它是一部城市哥特式文学作品,进而说明作者是如何充分利用这种文类潜在的政治功能表达对当前世界时事、文化及英国社会的看法。
Saturday is the first novel written by Ian McEwan with the background of “9.11” terrorist attacks and the war in Iraq. It occupies an important position in McEwan’s literary career. Unfortunately, very few people in China pay attention to its value. However, most of the researches in foreign countries from the perspective of ethics, narrative style and psychology. In this paper, another way to take a genre research approach to “Saturday” to study, trying to prove that it is a city of Gothic literature, and then shows how the author made full use of this genre potential political expression of the current world events, culture And British society’s opinion.
