Among the outstanding and systematically arranged tractures, which areobserved in the earth’s crust, three dominant groups are classified as follows:(a) split, (b) joint and (c) fault. Each of these fractures assumes its owndefinite position in relation to the other structural elements, has its own causalprocess and refers itself to the stress and external force which has prevailed.
