哈萨克族的文学史没有比较系统的汉语研究或介绍,原因有两个:一是缺乏专门人才——精通哈萨克语的汉族学者和精通汉语的哈萨克族学者少之又少,更不要说精通语言之外还要谙熟哈萨克文学;二是缺少有力的单位或组织。因此,伊犁师范学院编写的汉文版《哈萨克文学简史》丰富了我国文学宝库,让更多读者在更大范围内了解和借鉴哈萨克文学遗产,有助于促进真正展示中华民族文学全貌的中国文学史的诞生,这是一项填补空白的工作。
