从十一届三中全会迄今,中国的改革开放事业已走过了十四年的光辉历程。这是神州大地发生深刻变化的十四年,是中国人民取得社会主义建设巨大成就的十四年,我们可以毫不夸张地说,中国人民目前所进行的现代化建设事业,是人类历史上一场空前的伟大的社会主义实践。这一实践不仅为中国走向现代化强国探索了一条正确道路,而且在理论上极大地丰富和发展了马克思主义。邓小平同志关于“建设有中国特色的社会主义”理论,正是这一伟大实践的理论结晶,已经成为我们进行经济建设和其他各项工作的指导思想。
Since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, China's reform and opening up has gone through fourteen years of brilliant progress. This is fourteen years of profound changes in the land of China. It is a fourteen years for the Chinese people to make great achievements in socialist construction. It is no exaggeration to say that the Chinese people's current undertaking in the modernization drive is an unprecedented one in human history Great socialist practice. This practice has not only explored a correct path for China toward becoming a powerful country in modernization, but has also greatly enriched and developed Marxism in theory. Comrade Deng Xiaoping's theory of “building socialism with Chinese characteristics” is exactly the theoretical crystallization of this great practice and has become the guiding ideology for our economic construction and other various tasks.
