Sanyo Electric Company developed a thin film transistor (TFT) active matrix liquid crystal display (Hi-Vison) projector using a high-intensity metal halide lamp to obtain 600 feet-Lambertian brightness on a 40-inch screen. It uses three 1.5 million pixel board.
