1985年8月,《中共中央关于改革学校思想品德和政治理论课教学的通知》指出,各类高等院校在对学生进行以中国革命史为中心的历史教育和马克思主义基本理论教育的同时,要进行中国社会主义建设和改革的理论、政策和实际知识的教育,使学生了解我国党和人民正在进行的有世界意义的伟大事业,了解它同青年一代的密切关系以及青年一代在这一事业中的崇高责任。根据《通知》的这一精神,高等院校开设了“中国社会主义建设”这门新的课程。1986年7月,由辽宁人民出版社出版的《中国社会主义建设》(以下简称《建设》)一书由国家教委推荐为这门新课程的试用教材。《建设》是全面阐明中国社会主义建设基本问题的第一本通用教材,它较为突出地体现了党在坚持四项基本原则基础上集中力量发展社会生产力的基本思想。该书作者为适应高校政治理论课改革的需要,对“中国社会主义建设”这门新课程的教材建设进行了有益的探索,迈出了重要的一步。它主要有以下特点:

In order to meet the need of the reform of political theory in colleges and universities, the author of this book made a useful exploration on the teaching material construction of this new course of “China Socialism Construction” and took an important step.
