Objective:To studythedistributionof2kindsof melatoninreceptorsubtypes(mt1andMT2)in humanfetal brain.Methods:Thefetalbraintissueswereslicedandthedistributionof melatoninreceptorsinhumanfetalbrainwere detectedusingimmunohistochemistryandin situ hybridization.Results:Melatoninreceptormt1existedinthecerebellum andhypothalamus,melatoninreceptorMT2existsinhypothalamus,occipitalandmedulla.Conclusion:Two kindsof melatoninreceptors,mt1andMT2existinthemembraneandcytosolof braincells,indicatingthathumanfetalbrainis a targetorganof melatonin.
