Wheelchair tennis is gaining popularity among people with disabilities. For disabled adolescents, it can not only exercise the body, but more importantly, it can help them build self-esteem and confidence for the purpose of physical and psychological treatment. In the 1970s, Americans invented wheelchair tennis and subsequently developed rapidly around the world. In 1988, the International Wheelchair Tennis Federation (IWTF) was established and became the first performance of the Paralympic Games in the same year. At the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992, wheelchair tennis became the official Olympic Games. At present, there are more than 50 countries and regions conducting wheelchair tennis and more than 20,000 athletes are carrying out the sport for a long time.
