全国电大教育科技开发服务工作研讨会于1988年11月21日至24日在湖南长沙召开。参加会议的有31个省、市电大的校长及代表。 会议就发挥电大自身的优势、开展教育科技开发服务工作进行了广泛热烈的讨论,一致认为,电大同其他高等院校一样进行社会有偿服务,既是弥补国家教育经费的不足和改善教职工生活待遇的需要,也是教育为社会主义经济建设服务的需要和教育深化改革的需要。电大应建立以教学为中心,教材建设为重点,教学、科研、服务三结合的机制。在电大内部要本着“自愿、协商、平等、互利”的原则,采取“积极稳妥、抓紧时机、多办实事”的方针联合起来,结合地方的特长,通过协作,充分发挥电大系统整体的优势,进行电大的教育科技开发与服务。
