《会饮篇》是柏拉图涉及美学较多的作品,在此篇中,苏格拉底虽旨在为爱神写颂词,但通过对“爱”的亲历和认识,确是最能够达到“美”的境地的,即所谓“爱美”。美的阶层源于世界的阶层,美感教育正是可朽的人为攀登上“美”的扶梯所进行的课程。同时,其他颂词,如阿里斯托芬的颂词,也是意味深重的,甚至是更具美学性的。
