Li Chunping’s official novels take power as the object of investigation and examine the political and cultural personalities of some people in contemporary Chinese officialdom. This is embodied in the creation of two novella of “My man is the county magistrate” and “Enjoy the power.” Using situational irony reveals two kinds of power consciousness in political life.
