对比是把两种不同的事物或情形对照互相比较,“朱门酒肉臭,路有冻死骨”的诗句给人留下深刻的印象,因为它用强烈的对比描述了过去社会的不公。文字报道用翔实的事实与数字作古今、新旧对比,不但使人看到社会发展,前进的脚步,而且还增强可信性。新闻摄影是通过可视形象报道新闻,它具有鲜明、生动、眼见为实的特点,因此,对比手法在新闻摄影中运用能增强感染力、可读性,有时还能发挥动员社会的积极作用。
